Summer Fun

Wow! The summer is flying by. Already our days are shorter. The sun is at a different angle in the sky, and we do not enjoy broad daylight at 4:30 in the morning when I am out with the dogs. By 10:30 at night there is a distinct darkness of early dusk, and we need lights on in the house.

The FamAlaskans are still fishing. (The silvers are in.) We are still hiking and camping, and it is still fun to ride bikes well into the evening hours. But the shadows are lengthening in the evening, and we can feel the change of seasons approaching. And so we rush to finish every last summer project, to find every bit of summer fun before we welcome autumn with the glow of the yellow birch leaves and the familiar frost on the ground. Ah, summer. The shortest season. The treasured season.

DogMy dad was up for a visit in June. He met Dagney and Ellie for the first time. It was love at first sight. (Puppy love?) The girls adored their “grandpaw” and he loved them right back. Papa Dean, as Heather calls him, has a dry biting wit powered by a razor sharp mind. He’s the best 92 year old that I know, and I am very proud to have him as my dad.

Speaking of Heather, her family came to visit Alaska in July. They are a collection of some of the nicest people you could ever hope to find, and it seems like Heather might have been destined to be a sweet as she is. They did the true Alaskan trip: rented a big RV and toured around the state looking for adventure. Heather reports that there were no misadventures with bears, moose, or the RV….with the possible exception of one parking dilemma. (No blood was shed.)

In July we had our Cool Night Out open house. Thank you to everyone who attended, and a special thank you to our demo patient who agreed to let everyone watch her get a Coolsculpting treatment. How very generous of you! It was fun to meet everyone, and we are looking forward to starting your Coolsculpting treatments.

When we take stock of all we have done over the summer, one thing is almost always true. Despite the fact that we have worn our rain gear more than we ever dreamed possible, we have managed to sustain some sun damage to our skin. Darn it! To help undo the damage, and to prepare for the winter wind, we are offering a SkinCeuticals special. Buy any anti-oxidant product (CE ferulic, Phloretin CF, Resveratrol BE, Serum 15, AOX eye gel and get a moisturizer of your choice at 25% off.

My favorites? CE ferulic, Resveratrol, and Triple Lipid Restore. Fabulous. The new H.A. Intensifier has been amazing, and even works to enhance and maintain the results from Juvederm injections. Who wouldn’t love that?

Stop in. We’d love to hear your fishing stories, true or not, and we’d love to show you what SkinCeuticals can do.
